Committees *
Water Drop extends beyond our Sunday distributions. We also have working committees that research, advocate, educate, and much more! We welcome anyone to join and be a part of our committees as well!

Web Development Committee
The Web Development Committee is Water Drop’s latest addition to back-end operations. At the moment, Web Dev primarily focuses on the maintenance and development of the website. In the future, we aim to take on projects that enhance and automate all technologies utilized by the Water Drop team. Moreover, the Web Dev team works with other committees to assist with advertising events, highlighting stories, and showcasing accomplishments.

Policy, Advocacy, and Research Committee
The Policy, Advocacy, and Research Committee (PARC) is focused on efforts that bring permanent clean water infrastructure and permanent housing to Skid Row, as they are both inherently linked. We consciously engage with the ways that local and federal policies impact housing and water rights, and push for policies that improve the housing and water accessibility conditions in Skid Row. We also make meaningful efforts to build partnerships with local Skid Row organizations to ensure that Water Drop is centering community-led Skid Row efforts. Education Committee
The education committee is largely focused on providing educational material for Water Drop volunteers and the Water Drop internal team. We are especially focused on providing learning content to set clear standards of conduct and safety that help facilitate a more successful drop day experience for everyone. We are also interested in learning about what causes systemic poverty and homelessness.

Health and Safety Committee
The Health and Safety Committee focuses its efforts to keep community members, volunteers, and team members safe. This committee develops protocol to prevent, respond to, and follow up on any emergency situations Water Drop may encounter.

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee team works on developing media for online distribution via social media and materials to distribute to volunteers and community members in-person. The communications team also handles media requests and works with the PARC committee on media appearances. For any inquiries, please reach out at media@waterdropla.org.

Volunteer Engagement Committee
Volunteer engagement handles planning community and outreach events. This committee also develops materials for volunteer on-boarding and retention.
